WHO WE ARE
The Texas Society of Addiction Medicine (TXSAM) is a non-profit organization composed of healthcare professionals and other interested parties dedicated to treating patients with substance use disorders (SUDs). Our mission is to advocate for patients with SUDs, educate healthcare providers and the general public about the disease of addiction, and collaborate with all stakeholders to improve access to care. TXSAM is the official state chapter in Texas for he American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
ASAM is committed to supporting research and prevention efforts, expanding access to high-quality addiction treatment, educating healthcare professionals and the public, and promoting the essential role of providers in addiction care.
