The Dr. Terry Rustin
Early Career Physician Travel Award

 
Purpose: The Travel Award was established in recognition of the contributions of Dr.
Terry Rustin in establishment of the Texas Chapter of ASAM and his efforts expanding
inclusiveness and multi-disciplinary collaboration in Addiction Medicine. The award
will cover the cost of course registration, travel, and accommodations for the ASAM
Annual Meeting.
 
Eligibility: The Award is intended for providers (MD/DO/APP) who are currently in their
first 1-3 years post residency/fellowship/training and are working at least half time in the
treatment of or conducting clinical research on people with substance use disorders.
Individuals who apply must agree to join ASAM/TXSAM (one year of dues
will be covered). Individuals will be selected by the TXSAM Executive Leadership
Committee and selection will be based on the strength of their application, involvement in multi-disciplinary practice, and a track record of commitment to the clinical practice of and/or research in Addiction Medicine.
 
Award Amount: Up to $2,500 toward the cost of course registration, travel, and accommodations for the ASAM annual meeting and one year of dues at the Early Career level.
